So, if you find yourself in this situation or know someone who is thinking about what to make this Christmas, you don't always have to go for the most expensive option. Here we bring you a simple recipe that the whole family will love.
These puff pastry bites filled with ham and cheese will become the star dish of your Christmas meal. With a simple recipe that won't tie you down to the kitchen during these special days.
To prepare it, we'll need puff pastry, slices of cooked ham, slices of cheese, tomato purée, egg, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Preparation
To start, we'll use our puff pastry, whether store-bought or homemade. We'll roll it out into a rectangular shape. Then, we'll preheat the oven to 180°C. Once we've rolled out our puff pastry, we'll brush the surface with tomato purée; you can add more or less depending on your taste.

For a better flavor, add the pepper and oregano, although you can also mix them into the tomato purée beforehand. Sprinkle the salt on top as well. Once we've added our spices, we'll place the ham slices all over our dough. Once done, we'll repeat the process with the cheese.
Once ready, we'll roll up our puff pastry and cut out our bites beforehand. The best option is to cut them into small portions so they can serve as a delicious appetizer on our table.
Now it's time to place them in an ovenproof dish; although any type will do, we recommend a muffin tin so they can rise. We'll bake them for approximately 25 minutes and then serve them.
With this simple recipe, you can surprise your family by breaking away from the classic Christmas appetizers.
