However, even if you clean it regularly, it's a good idea to do a thorough cleaning every six months. If you want to know how to clean it properly, keep reading.

How to Thoroughly Clean the Oven

As we said at the beginning, it's best to clean it after every use. To do this, you'll need a soft scouring pad and dish soap, with which you should wipe down all parts of the oven. Finally, remove any soap residue with a damp cloth. For the deepest cleaning, which should be done twice a year, you can use different products, preferably natural ones.

First, you can use baking soda and vinegar. This method is recommended when the oven is very dirty. The first step, in this case, is to remove all the baking trays from the oven and clean them. How? In a bowl, mix 10 tablespoons of baking soda, 4 tablespoons of water, and 3 tablespoons of vinegar until a thick paste forms. Then, cover all the dirt with this mixture and let it sit for at least 12 hours. When the time has passed, rinse with a cloth dampened with neutral soap, if possible. Finally, remove all remaining soap residue with a damp cloth and let it dry.

Another product we can use to remove all the dirt from the oven is a lemon. To carry out this method, you'll need to squeeze 3 lemons and pour the juice into an ovenproof container. Next, add a third of the water to the juice. Place the container in the oven and heat at about 120 degrees for 30 minutes. When the time has passed, let it cool and remove the saucepan. If there are still large stains, you can remove them with a plastic spatula. Finally, wipe the entire oven down with a cloth.


If you do this every six months, your oven will be in perfect condition and completely sparkling clean. This way, it will look better and, above all, won't give off unpleasant odors; your recipes won't take on any strange flavors and will be delicious.
