The time of year is coming when showing off a great figure has become a tradition. And some of the keys to achieving this are through cardio exercises because they help you burn calories and speed up your metabolism to lose weight.

5 cardio Exercises Without Leaving Home

The first thing to keep in mind is the amount of time you'll be dedicating to this type of exercise each day. Everybody is unique, and everything is always a guideline, but doing a routine of between 10 and 20 minutes could improve your cardio through consistency.

Once you've chosen your time, it's time to make a list of exercises you'll do during that time. Here, we'll give you some tips to help you improve your cardio at home and without any equipment.

Squats

A legendary exercise that you can't miss to improve your cardio, squats activate both your glutes and core muscles. You should try to lower and raise your squats for an average frequency of 2 minutes to work them out as best as possible.

Squats are a basic and simple exercise for cardio.

As for speed, that depends on each individual's body and endurance, although it will get much better as the days go by. The faster you do it, the more cardio you'll be working, but always do it within your physique's capacity.

Hand-to-Leg Jump

For this exercise, you'll need to stand with your body completely straight. The goal is to increase your heart rate and improve circulation through your extremities. To do this, stand with your feet together and your arms relaxed at waist level. Then, start moving by jumping and spreading your legs while raising your arms in a scissor motion above your shoulders.

Hands to Toes

This exercise requires space inside the house to avoid any further damage that could affect the furniture. To do it, stand and raise one of your legs as if you were going to kick while lowering your opposite hand to touch the ankle of the raised leg. Then, perform the same movement with the opposite limbs, and so on. This activity increases and improves your heart rate.

Quick Steps and Flexions

In this exercise, you'll work your lower body alongside cardio, and despite its complexity, it's one of the most complete exercises for burning calories. To perform it, you'll do a squat with your legs slightly bent. Then, lift your feet with a quick movement without lifting your toes off the floor. Afterward, do a burpee and repeat for a new set.

Quick Steps and Punches

The mechanics of this exercise are very similar to the previous one because you have to work your lower body in the same way, but without the burpee. In other words, you have to bend your knees slightly and, without lifting your toes off the floor, make a quick movement, raising and lowering your heels.

This time, the difference is that you'll also move your arms, whose initial position will be in a defensive stance with your elbows tucked in. Then, stretch your upper limbs alternately, as if making fists, while moving your feet with quick steps. This exercise will improve blood circulation and physical coordination.
